Mrs Edith Fryett, Wife of John Fryett - Poulterer and greengrocer (Photo 1931,
K1933, K1937, SRB1939). John, who is now 51, previously ran the butcher's shop at No
32 East Street and his father, James Fryett, was the butcher at No
71 High Street. John & Edith have had 15 Children (9 living). Their third child, Chester, completed an apprenticeship with the Blowers blacksmith business at No 42 High Street before serving in the Great War. After returning, Chester becomes a distinguished ornamental blacksmith in Essex.
John Fryett dies in 1938 but his wife will continue to run the business for the next three years.
